Risk versus Reward

The Model Factory talk Glamour Modeling

The primary aim of modelling is to attract the audience in order to win attention. The result of glamour modelling is having your photo in magazines, calendars, products, and many other outlets. This form of modelling rarely involves walking down a runway so many people might think that it is less demanding.

However, The Model Factory know that it is not easy to succeed in this industry if you are not ready for the hard work that comes with it. First of all, there are so many other models in the market, and many more searching for the same spot that you want. Therefore, you have to put in the extra effort in order for you to successfully accomplish your dream. One thing to note is that you must have the perfect face and body for the job. People have succeeded through things like plastic surgery and temporary tattooing to enhance their looks but these things shouldn't be considered necessary; in The Model Factory's experience, some times they can even work against you.

It is important to accept the things that you can change and those that you cannot, in terms of looks. For example, certain features in your body could be better if left that way, regardless of how much you might want to change them. However, if you embark on plastic surgery or corrective surgery in general, you must understand that the results are permanent and have risks. Moreover, you must also accept the fact that the photos that you will take as a glamour model will remain in the the public eye permanently. A good number of people forget this fact, and they end up trying to change what is impossible to reverse later in life. Why female models get paid more than men!

The Model Factory

While we are constantly told that there is equality between the sexes in terms of pay, we seldom believe it. Modelling is one business that actually flips the stereotype on its head; women make more than men! We thought we should look at why this is, and the reasons are surprisingly simple.

The Model Factory
The Model Factory
It's estimated that women do over 65% of the total expenditure on clothing in the UK. One reason for this is that women, in general, enjoy shopping more than men and are more likely to replace items that haven't worn out for the sake of the latest trend. This is the main reason that more advertising budgets, and hence modeling jobs, are directed at women. In print, women sell to women and men sell to men - it's just the way it is! On the catwalk, the interest in high fashion among men is lower and so the male shows are less publicised and often smaller and the catwalk models get paid, in general, a bit less.

The Model Factory: Yoga

The Model Factory

The Model Factory offer modelling advice packages and have great relationships with leading studios and agencies. One important factor for aspiring models to remember is fitness. Although there are many niches of modelling which don't require you to be super slim, fitness is crucial to a good life regardless of your modelling aspirations. Here are some ways in which yoga can help you in your daily life and that will definitely reflect on your modelling look.

Yoga is a fantastic way to tone muscles that you don't normally use. The first few weeks can be extremely tiring but your body will adapt to the new exercise and love you for it. The movements of yoga create great blood circulation that helps move trapped fluids around the body. Try to do a couple of poses and your cheeks will look much rosier! Yoga can make you a nicer person to be around because it gives you a greater sense of humility. In another word, it makes you more humble. When you fail at a pose, you don’t give up, right? You keep practicing until you succeed. This way, you learn how to admit your mistakes and forgive yourself and also other people. Follow The Model Factory on twitter for more modelling and fitness tips.

Yoga makes you feel more comfortable with your imperfections and makes you realise that they’re not all that bad. It’s always great to see a lady with good posture. Good posture makes women feel confident and gorgeous and it is much more beautiful and healthier than a woman hunched over. If you want to improve your posture, yoga is a must. Try some easy modelling auditions style poses and you will have a better posture in just a few weeks. While yoga can help you lose weight, it can also give you a healthy body. Yoga improves flexibility, prevents joint pain, and helps the body stay fit, of course, with a healthy eating plan. A worn out body is not beautiful, but a healthy body is. Doing yoga is one of the best ways to make yourself healthier and more beautiful. After all, if you don’t have a healthy body, how could you possibly cope with life situations and become a better person? For more health and beauty tips, read other blogs from The Model Factory. What is Body Parts Modelling?

Body Parts Modelling

If someone told you they were a body parts model, you'd probably want to laugh. Being a body parts model is a very niche segment of modelling as a whole and involves people who have a special quality, be it their hands, feet, belly, nose, ears, the list goes on. The Model Factory know all about this intriguing area of the modelling business.

The most interesting part of this area of modelling is the fact that many famous models who are featured on magazines or big campaigns may not be able to be, for example, jewelry models. It is an area for those with even one exquisite feature, be it your neck or your toes.

The Model Factory

Here are some example requirements for hand models:

Slender, long fingers
Even skin tone
Smooth skin
An ability to pose while appearing relaxed

If you think you have some stand out features, but aren't comfortable attempting to enter other areas of modelling, or even if you consider yourself a model already but want to explore body parts modelling as a side line, get in touch with The Model Factory today.

The Model Factory: The Paleo Diet

The Model Factory: The Paleo Diet

With over 12 years experience in the industry and a team in both London and Manchester, The Model Factory will provide you with the tools you need and on going support. The Model Factory is not an agency as we do not find models work, but we have an enormous amount of experience and expertise in the area. Our team are dedicated to ensuring you have a safe and secure experience in kick starting your modelling career. Here is some information about the Paleo Diet that you may find useful when choosing a weight loss program.

The Model Factory
The Model Factory
This is also known as the caveman diet. It was the most searched weight-loss method in 2013 and consists of all foods that can essentially be gathered, hunted or fished. In short, it is meat, fish, seeds, fruit, and veg. It is based on the diet that we assume our ancestors ate before the development of agriculture. So, anything that is refined or cultivated is off the menu. Some say that it is practical in the long run and shows weight loss and good health, and the lack of sugars reduces chances of type 2 diabetes.

This diet dismisses processed food in favour of fruit and vegetables – this is definitely a good thing in terms of calorie intake and nutrition. It doesn’t involve counting calories which makes it easy to stick to, as long as you create new habits in the supermarket and have enough inventive ideas.

Its health claims lack scientific evidence, but this is true for many diets as long term benefits and detriments have not been possible yet. Many versions of this diet ban dairy products which form part of a balanced diet and like all high protein diets it can get expensive to maintain. Vegetarians shouldn’t attempt the paleo diet as its impossible without meat.

Parenting: The Model Factory

The Model Factory: Parent of a Child Model

There are many niches in the modelling industry. The Model Factory are not a modelling agency but rather offer advice, help and guidance to aspiring models. They even have a "Free Track" package that gives a professional assessment and free modelling advice. Whether a woman starts as a child model or as an adult, she may also wish that her child follows in her footsteps.

The Model Factory

While we don’t want to spread ourselves too thin, it’s important to show children that we can be more than just one thing. Great role models aren’t just categorised as “parents” or “teachers.” They’re all those who have curiosity and varied interests.

They’re great learners who challenge themselves to get out of their comfort zones. You may be a father who’s also a student of the martial arts, a great cook, a good sport, and a valued friend. You may be a mother who’s a celebrated singer and a great photographer.

When children see that they can be many things at once, they will learn that they don’t need to narrow their goals in order to be successful in modelling.
